RICHMOND, Va. -- No Pirate pitcher is ever going to out-hard luck Harvey Haddix in the ill-fated no-hitter attempt department, but Doug Drabek's near miss in his 1990 Cy Young season is nearly as acute a heartbreaker, and seemingly all-but-forgotten. I'm unaware of any database that tracks such things, but I'd hasten a guess that losing a no-hitter with two outs in the ninth is nearly as uncommon as a no-no itself, if a million times less satisfying!
